Here is the baby Didericks Cuckoo that was seen being fed by an Olive Sunbird. The parent Cuckoo would have laid their egg in the Sunbird's nest and then left all the incubation and hard work to the poor sunbird.
This photo shows a baby Natal Robin next to the parent on our bird table. The baby hasn't yet got the spectacular colours of the parent. Although there are lots of Robins in the garden, they don't often visit the feeding table, but this week they were seen eating bananas.
They are particularly fond of birdbaths.
This Cape Batis spends all day flinging himself at our windows.

Palmiet Genet

This was a very unusual sighting. A Genet appeared in broad daylight and proceeded to eat bananas off the fruit table. It then jumped onto our birdbath and had a long leisurely drink. Needless to say the birds were not amused and they all came out shouting!
